After setting four strict conditions, the school allowed Jacklyn to return and she graduated from there. Jacklyn got married to Jeff’s biological father but divorced him right after one year.

Jacklyn worked as a secretary to make the ends meet. It was a difficult time for her because she wanted to give the best life to her son and she also wanted to study further. To pursue her dreams, she got enrolled in a college where she was allowed to bring her infant too.

In this college, she met Mike Bezos to whom she got married, and Mike gave Jeff his last name as a stepfather.

The biological father of Jeff was Ted Jorgensenwas who was a circus performer. Jeff lived with his father for only a year due to which he does not remember him. Ted was not a good father or husband, back in the days he used to drink a lot and come home very late.

Jeff’s mother went to her parent’s house and got a divorce from Ted because he was not fulfilling his responsibilities.

He started his first business while being in high school to create a summer camp for children aged 9 to 12 years old. The summer camp was called ‘The dream institute’ and Jeff’s girlfriend at the time was also taking an equal part in it and they both charged $600 per student.

After Jeff graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Computer science and Electrical engineering, he worked at various firms on Wall Street in New York City.

He was working at D.E Shaw as a vice president but he resigned after four years to start his online business of a bookstore.

Initially, Jeff created a sample of Amazon and asked 300 people to do a test and review it. When the prototype turned out to be a hit, Jeff formed a team of a few employees and started developing the software in his garage.

The garage was too small for meetings, so they had to conduct meetings at a local Barnes and noble store. Later the operations expanded and they began to work in a two-bedroom house.

The start of Amazon, the world’s most popular online store, was not so great. Starting from a small garage, no one would have thought it will be used by everyone around the world very soon. 7. Helicopter Crash Survivor

Jeff is one of the few luckiest people alive in the world who have survived an aerial crash. In 2003 he was scouting over properties in a helicopter looking for open land to test launch spacecraft. During the flight, the wind went rough and a gust of wind blew the helicopter off-course and crashed.

The helicopter cropped a dune of dirt and toppled. The body of the helicopter rolled and toppled into a  Creek, breaking off the helicopter’s tail. As the body landed upside-down in the creek, it started filling with water.

Luckily, Jeff survived the crash with minor injuries and one of the passengers suffered broken vertebrae.

8. Owner of The Washington Post
