Drake
Rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor Aubrey Drake Graham (born 24 October 1986 in Toronto, ON) rose to fame as a child actor before becoming one of the most popular and important artists in contemporary hip hop, thanks to his part on the hit Canadian television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. His R&B-influenced singing voice and contemplative lyrical approach, which frequently addresses his personal relationships and define his musical style. His ambient, atmospheric sound has had a big impact.
Since 2006, Drake has released six studio albums and seven mixtapes under the name Aubrey Drake Graham. He’s one of the most successful modern artists, with over 170 million albums sold and four Grammy Awards to his name. He also formed the Toronto record label OVO Sound in 2012.
The Juno and Grammy Award winner set the record for the most No. 1 singles on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop and Hot Rap Songs charts in 2012. He was dubbed “hip hop’s current center of gravity” by the New York Times in 2011. He’s also had 100 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which puts him in fourth place all-time behind James Brown and Elvis Presley. He was designated worldwide ambassador for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association in 2013.
Drake has been enjoying the Valley lifestyle in the luxury gated neighborhood of Hidden Hills since he first purchased property in California. Now, it looks that the musician is ready to settle down in Los Angeles. Drake is reportedly bought a home in Los Angeles’ Beverly Crest district, according to the Los Angeles Times from Robbie Williams, a fellow musician, in an off-market agreement.
Drake’s new $75 Million Beverly Hills estate
According to a real estate insider who spoke about the transaction on the condition of anonymity, the hip-hop sensation bought the Beverly Crest property of English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams. According to the insider, the deal was sold for $75 million.
With an asking price of $85 million, the massive stretch was put up for sale to financially qualified bidders, but records show it sold for exactly $75 million. The listed agent was Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency, and the buyer was represented by Marc Bretter of Maywood Property Group, though neither broker could be reached for comment.
Williams had hoped for a $85 million sale for the house he shared with his wife Ayda Field and their four children, but after failing to locate a buyer, he settled for the lesser amount. Williams also owns homes in Los Angeles, London, Wiltshire, and Switzerland.
Despite the reduction, Williams made a huge profit on the Tuscan-style mansion, which he bought from Guess cofounder Armand Marciano in 2015 for “only” $32.7 million. The property’s current specifications and images are scant, but tax records show that the existing stucco and terracotta-roof house was built in 2001 by KAA Design Group and offers a massive 24,000 square feet of contemporary living area on two levels.
Williams and his wife Ayda Field are said to have recently given the home’s previously Mediterranean-themed and beige interiors a crisply contemporary makeover, complete with white paint, exquisite new lighting fixtures, and acres of marble.
Drake has opted to sell his former L.A. home, which is unsurprising, – a continuous trio of homes in guard-gated Hidden Hills that were put on the market at the same time for a total of $22 million. He also owns a 50,000-square-foot mega-mansion in the upscale Bridle Path section of Toronto.
Meanwhile, Williams is said to be relocating to a fancy rental property in the guard-gated Beverly Park subdivision. He and Field also reportedly owned an opulent Malibu vacation property, which they sold to Aaron Rodgers for $28 million in 2019.
The Beverly Hills property was never publicly listed, so little is known about the space’s design or the terms of the transaction. The space is 20,000 square feet, which is luxurious by most people’s standards but still less than half the size of the Grammy winner’s Toronto house. There’s a wine cellar, gym, and game area on the inside, as well as a convenient 11-car garage for Drake’s luxury automobile collection. It wouldn’t be surprising if the musician gutted the 10-bedroom, 22-bathroom property, as he’s used to ultra-custom surroundings at his Canadian home, which he co-designed with architect and interior designer Ferris Rafauli.
The beautiful property in Beverly Hills includes manicured front gardens, a brick motorcourt, and is set behind a long private driveway on 20+ acres in the 90210 – making it one of the largest estates in prime L.A., although less than half of that land is level and truly useable. Inside, vast, gathering spaces overlook gardens and lawns with views of the canyon and city lights, and glamorous amenities include an elevator, wine cellar, gym, and game room.
A pleasant bedroom was a requirement for someone as busy as Drake, who needed a space to completely unwind. During a tour of his Toronto house in 2020, he told AD, “The bedroom is where I come to decompress from the world at the end of the night and where I open my eyes to seize the day. The bed lets you float, the shower lets you escape and gather your thoughts, and the closet makes you want to talk to yourself while you’re getting dressed.” he says.
Drake has made his first real estate purchase in the Los Angeles area with this sale. He’s been building a compound in Hidden Hills, a gated community in the San Fernando Valley where celebrities come for privacy, for the past decade. He also owns a 50,000-square-foot showplace in Toronto, where he grew up.
Drake sells Hidden Hills ‘Yolo Estate’ for $22 Million after purchasing a $75 Million Mega-Mansion
Only a few days after purchasing a massive Beverly Hills mansion, Drake is looking to sell his Hidden Hills mansion. Drizzy has put his “Yolo Estate” up for sale, according to TMZ, and the package deal is fairly nice for those who have the cash.
The “Yolo Estate” in Hidden Hills, California, is on the market for $14.8 million. The swimming pool, an 80-foot rock waterslide, spa grotto, 25-seater theater, and wine cellar are all included in the English Tudor-style property. Drake is also including the two adjacent homes in the purchase, which totals $22.2 million.
Drake has been building the compound for a decade, beginning with the purchase of an English Tudor-style mansion in 2012 for $7.7 million. In 2015, he paid $2.85 million for the ranch next door, and three years later, he paid $4.5 million for another neighboring ranch, resulting in a 6.5-acre triple-lot estate.
The “Yolo Estate” — slang for “you only live once” — is the compound’s crown jewel, which Drake turned into a party house during his stay. The home has seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, six fireplaces, a wine cellar, tasting room, bar, recording studio, and movie theater. It is rustic on the outside with Tudor-style flourishes and opens to 12,500 square feet of dramatic spaces with seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, six fireplaces, a wine cellar, tasting room, bar, recording studio, and movie theater. The primary suite, hidden behind a bookshelf, is 2,000 square feet in size and includes two marble tubs.
The backyard was designed with entertaining in mind. A custom swimming pool with cascading waterfalls and an 80-foot rock waterslide is surrounded by statues. A grotto with TVs and a bar is located beneath the waterfalls.
A tennis court, sand volleyball court, mechanical bull, and equestrian amenities like a horse stable and riding ring are also available. The property is valued at $14.8 million on its own.
“All 3 offered at $22.2M & together encompass 6.7 acres at the end of the cul-de-sac,” According to the listing on The Beverly Hills Estates, “If you’re reading this it’s not too late.”
The listing comes after Drake paid roughly $75 million for a Tuscany-style Beverly Crest property that originally belonged to English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams as mentioned previously.
The 6 God, who allegedly made $50 million last year, making him the fourth highest-paid rapper after JAY-Z ($470 million), Kanye West ($250 million), and Diddy ($75 million), was clearly flexing with this new acquisition.
Drake, on the other hand, didn’t appear to agree with the report and responded to the estimated amount on Instagram with a sobbing laughing emoji comment.
